  1. :

I reached out to Alistair back in 2015 to see if they offered a left-handed X20. At the time they did not, however in early 2016 I was pleasantly surprised by an e-mail from Emerald letting me know that they were going to begin work on the mould needed to create a lefty version. I placed an order and received the guitar in early September 2016. It’s a great instrument … certainly the finest guitar I’ve ever owned. It’s such a pleasure to play, not only because of the crispness and sound quality, but because of the ergonomics. Because it’s so light I can play standing up much more comfortably and for a longer time without fatigue. When I do sit down, the guitar stays solidly in place on my lap unlike any other acoustic I’ve played, and the rounded edge of the guitar body is very easy on my forearm. Every element of fit and finish is top notch. Living in Florida, I’ve been limited in taking my wood guitars on some outings because I would have to leave them in my car in the hot sun. I’m really looking forward to taking the X20 on some road trips soon.

This is hands down, the best acoustic guitar I have ever played. It is extremely comfortable on my lap or hanging from a strap. I absolutely love the way the body is shaped and the bevel for where my strumming arm rests is a great touch. The guitar sounds wonderful. I played a bit at the beach with some friends and every guitar player there wanted to try to play my Emerald even though they were all right handed. Thank you to Alistair and his exceptional team for building a perfect guitar.

Been playing x20 12 string for awhile now really love the sound, playability and weight of the guitar.i have numerous 12 string guitars from martin to taylor, gibson, larrive and even a composite acoustic one of Alistair’s competitors, this guitar has become my favorite.
Also own a small body t8 12string and still enjoy that as well. The workmanship and quality of material is fantastic.
