Irish broadcasting duo, Today FM’s Dermot and Dave, headed for France in a camper van on Thursday, June 10 and have taken one of our Emerald Guitars with them!
Award-winning radio hosts Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore, aka Dermot and Dave, will be broadcasting from the UEFA European Championship for two full weeks and to keep themselves entertained while supporting The Boys In Green, on and off air, have taken a custom-made X7 with them.
As big fans of their very popular programme, we were only to happy to give Dermot and Dave a guitar for the road, and given the occasion, of course, we had to come up something special for their trip to the Euros. So we built them our X7 travel guitar in green, white and gold.
The guitar features gold Gotoh 510 tuners (18:1 radio), a custom white fretboard featuring Evo Gold frets, golden bridge pins and as an added touch we set up the guitar with golden Optima strings.
Dave Moore said: ”We were excited when Emerald Guitars reached out to us on Twitter and offered to make us a custom Euro 2016 guitar for our big trip to France to support the boys in green. As we got closer to the big day, the excitement built even more.
“When Alistair arrived at Today FM and unzipped the case to reveal the guitar, we were speechless. The craftsmanship is just incredible. The sound is so amazing form such a compact instrument, perfect for our trip to France. And it’s no mean feat to use the green white and gold of our tricolour and make it not even one bit cheesy or tacky. Alistair and the guys from Emerald Guitars are geniuses. COME ON YOU GUITARS IN GREEN!”
Departing from Rosslare on Thursday, Dermot and Dave will travel to Paris, Bordeaux and Lille over the next two weeks.
