Chimaera Woody Sapele 7+7

Mark was looking for a custom double neck to use with his altered tunings.  so after some discussion back and forward we finally came up with this beautiful spec. He wanted 7-string necks which would both be kept in different tunings so it was decided that the bottom neck would be a standard 25.5″ scale for higher tunings while the upper neck was a fan fret of 27″ – 25.5″ to allow for lower tunings. For to woody top he was looking for something striking and this coincided with us taking delivery of some stunning Sapele. It was a special veneer for a special guitar. Certainly an eye-catching guitar that we won’t forget any time soon.

I was looking for another double neck, but wanted something different, I really like 7 strings and found myself switching between two tunings a lot. After several emails back and forward to Alistair, This is want eventuated.

If you have ever played (or owned) a double neck before, you know they are somewhat unwieldy beasts; This beauty is anything but! In fact, it’s so easy to play the granddaughter keeps stealing it when I am not home!

Emerald Guitars were AWESOME to deal with. I was amazed at how effortless it was to get a totally custom build, including the non-standard buttons and Mag locks on the stealth tuners (Mag locks HIGHLY recommended by the way). I think everyone who has seen this guitar is utterly dumb-founded!
