X7 Pinless Green

Joe wanted one of our X7 Artisan guitars but had two custom features in mind. Firstly, he preferred the textured finish on the back and sides from our Opus series for a more durable finish and contrast to the gloss top. Secondly, Joe is not a fan of bridge pins so he asked us to do a pinless bridge for him.
We do our pinless bridge by drilling holes through the bridge and creating slots so the strings can insert through the bridge and anchor to the underside of the soundboard, giving the same energy transfer as experienced with pins but giving a clean look and simple string changes.

I started looking at carbon fiber guitars because I wanted something that was not going to be effected by the elements. That helped narrow down the field a little bit. I really liked what I saw when looking at Emerald Guitars. I wanted something smaller that I could play in the house and was also easy to take with me places. The X7 seemed to fit, size-wise, what I was looking for.

I knew I didn't need electronics, since I'm never playing for more than a handful of people, so I opted out of having them put in the guitar. From what I had read, people preferred the non-polished finish on the back and sides as it seemed to help the guitar from sliding around too much. I figured I would put faith in what others had said and was glad I did. The textured finish, on top of being helpful in doing what others said, looks neat, too.

The pinless bridge was something I stumbled on when looking at other peoples Emerald Guitars. Aesthetically, it was pleasing to me. Having owned a few acoustic guitars in the past, I had never really liked fussing with bridge pins. Finding out that having a pinless bridge was an option was great.

Seeing it in pictures and in person made me glad I made the choice. Overall, I am really happy with this guitar, and with the service you guys provide. Thanks!
