X7 Tenor Guitar

Mike in Massachusetts contacted us looking for a carbon fiber tenor guitar with a 23″ scale and the tuning of CGDA, replicating the basic specs of an old treasured wooden tenor guitar he owns. Mike wanted a reliable carbon fiber tenor guitar, that also sounds great to be able to take with him on his travels. This was the first time we modified an X7 into a tenor guitar, using the headstock of our Synergy Uke, modifying the neck and bridge. We were very pleased with the final result and, more importantly, so was Mike.

"I could not be happier with my X7 tenor guitar! The design is exceptional! The workmanship and attention to detail extraordinary! The intonation is excellent. The action and playability were top notch without additional setup. Perhaps most importantly, I've been able to enjoy playing it in environments I wouldn't want to take my 40-year-old Martin. I was somewhat concerned by placing an order sight unseen and sound unheard, but I must say the tone is a pleasant surprise. While its tone is different from my O-18T, it is a very pleasing, resonant, tone with rich harmonics and much sustain. It especially accentuates finger picking. I've also banged on it strumming pretty hard and have not been disappointed. In closing I'd like to say that I would recommend an Emerald guitar to anyone interested in a durable, fine-playing and sounding instrument."
