Description
The Synergy X20 is an uncompromising full size harp guitar designed to give a rich full bodied and balanced acoustic experience on the neck coupled with loud powerful sub bass strings in a modern and ergonomic design. As we have developed our harp guitar range we have come to recognise the many benefits that carbon fibre allows in the design and construction of these wonderful instruments. Our moulding technology offers us the ability to create a much more sculpted and ergonomic shape that offers great comfort and balance to the player. The strength of carbon helps us create a light weight and responsive top that can easily take the heavy strain of the sub bass strings. The Synergy X20 Artisan is built to order and generally has a five-month lead time. The Artisan is available in black, amber, red, green and blue, or as a Woody, has full gloss finish on all surfaces, Gotoh 510 tuners (18:1 ratio) and comes with a custom-designed stereo LR Baggs pickup system. It comes with a custom-padded Emerald Guitars gig bag. The custom pickup system on the Synergy X20 consist of two LR Baggs Element systems wired together in such a way to have a volume and tone control for both guitar neck and sub bass strings. It also has a mono to stereo switch which allows for a mono output with everything blended onboard or switch to stereo output allowing to split the signal externally for use with a floor pedal or run to separate amps or effects. Paul Price –
Wow! This instrument has placed the Synergy into the Harp Guitar world like no other. My Synergy X-20 has 14 strings–7 subs and 7 on the neck, and the balance, playability, tone, projection, feel, and looks are amazing! The construction and attention to detail is superb, and all of my Emeralds play better than any other guitars I’ve played in my 40+ years as a player. The acoustic response of this instrument will make you want to mic it, but the pickup is also very natural sounding. Alistair and the folks at Emerald have come up with yet another mind-blowing, game-changing instrument! I can’t imagine playing anything else at this point.

I have just received my new custom Synergy X20 Harp Guitar. It is my 2nd Emerald. It took me about three minutes to unpack it and fall in love with it. It is a fabulous instrument. Acoustically it is a delight to play; balanced both across the strings and up and down the neck. It really responds well to the pickup that is built in. The sound is very natural, like the acoustic, but simply louder. The quality of the fit and finish is unsurpassed; I can honestly say flawless. I have been a fan of carbon instruments for years, but this Emerald really raises the bar. It will definitely be my ‘go to’ harp harp. I suspect that my $20,000 custom is going to be very lonely for a while languishing in its case.
