About the Noir Series
Yes. Every Noir is built at Emerald Guitars HQ in Donegal, Ireland, alongside our main range. Each instrument is made by the same skilled team and to the same high standards for which Emerald guitars are known.
Every Noir features our one piece carbon fiber construction, providing exceptional strength, stability and consistency across changing temperatures, humidity levels and playing environments.
No. Each Noir is produced to the same carefully selected specification.
This focused approach allows us to deliver the tone, playability and reliability of an Emerald guitar at a more accessible price, without adding options or features that are not essential to the playing experience.
Both models share the newly redesigned X20 platform, including its repositioned soundhole, updated neck profile, ergonomic body and one piece carbon fiber construction.
The main range X20 offers a wider selection of colours, carbon weaves, veneers, hardware, inlays, neck specifications and LR Baggs pickup systems. It also features stainless steel frets, a machined carbon fiber bridge and a precision Plek setup.
The X20 Noir has a fixed specification with nickel silver frets, a Richlite bridge and an Emerald pickup and preamp system. It is supplied in a padded Noir soft case and is designed to provide the essential Emerald playing experience at a more accessible price.
The lightweight bridge is made from Richlite, a durable composite material selected for its strength, stability and consistency.
The fretboard is made from unidirectional carbon fiber.
Each Noir is fitted with D’Addario XS Phosphor Bronze Light strings in gauges .012 to .053.
The Emerald pickup and preamp system combines an under saddle pickup with an internal microphone, allowing you to blend the two sources to suit your sound.
The side mounted preamp includes volume, microphone volume, bass, middle and treble controls, along with phase reversal and a built in chromatic tuner. Its internal battery can be recharged using USB C.
Yes. Every Noir includes a padded, Noir branded soft case.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and solvents.
Yes. Carbon fiber is far less affected by changes in temperature and humidity than wood, helping your Noir maintain a stable and consistent setup across different environments.
However, no instrument should be exposed to excessive heat or direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Avoid leaving your guitar in particularly hot environments, such as inside a parked vehicle.
