We wanted to deliver a small selection of models, all built to one specification so we could offer a lower price point but still keep everything at the core of our designs.
Uncompromised Emerald Quality at a New Price Point
The range features two of our most popular models, the X20 Dreadnought and X7 Parlor acoustics. We wanted to give more players the chance to experience our signature designs and reliable tone, keeping everything that is essential to an Emerald, while offering some differences to the core range of instruments.
The X20 and X7 maintain our most essential features: one-piece carbon fiber construction, ergonomic shaping, stainless steel frets, and precise attention to detail. They’re built using the same molds and materials as our core range, and each one receives a full PLEK setup for optimal playability. These core elements; the one piece carbon fiber construction, unique ergonomic designs, stainless steel frets and attention to detail ensure that every guitar from this range has all the reliability and benefits of an Emerald.
Unique Features
The Black Opus range has some unique features not usually found on our other Emerald models.
Crystal Ice satin finish
The distinctive Crystal Ice satin finish over exposed black carbon fiber sets the Black Opus apart from the rest of the Emerald lineup. This matte-textured surface offers a unique, textured feel while preserving the clarity and detail of the carbon weave.
The satin finish offers a great alternative to the gloss finish found on the rest of the range. The neck feels smooth and slick with a subtle texture that glides easily in the hand and offers a great alternative for those who prefer a satin finish to gloss for their own playing preference. It also makes for a more scratch and mark-resistant surface on the body of the guitar, perfect for taking on the road or anywhere where your inspiration takes you.
LR Baggs Element Bronze Pickup
The Element Bronze offers a natural, expressive amplified tone by using the same ultra-responsive sensor found in LR Baggs’ renowned Element Active System. Unlike typical undersaddle pickups that respond mostly to pressure — often creating an artificial, “quacky” sound — the Element Bronze tracks the guitar’s vibration and dynamics with microphone-like sensitivity. Paired with a minimalist, studio-grade preamp design, it delivers a warm, clean signal that preserves the true voice of your guitar. It’s a refined, no-frills pickup that perfectly complements the Black Opus philosophy: pure tone, no excess.
Emerald Tuners
Designed specifically for the Opus range, our Emerald Tuners offer smooth 14:1 gearing and rock-solid tuning stability. Built with simplicity and function in mind, they’re reliable and made to perform.
X20 Black Opus
The X20 is our take on the classic dreadnought acoustic, reimagined with the player in mind. Featuring our signature one-piece carbon fiber construction and unique design, the X20 is our most popular acoustic for good reason. When looking for a quality acoustic to cover lots of different styles, the X20 is our first recommendation.
