Emerald Guitars X20 Woody features in new Goats Don’t Shave video

Irish folk rock band Goats Don’t Shave have featured the Emerald Guitars X20 Woody carbon fiber guitar in the music video for their latest release.

Led by singer/songwriter Pat Gallagher, the Goats became one of Ireland’s most outstanding bands in the early 1990s with top ten singles and a platinum selling album selling out out concert venues the length and breadth of the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America.

Formed in our native Donegal around 1989, the Goats’ initial success came with singles like the ‘anthem’ Las Vegas in the Hills of Donegal and Let The World Keep On Turning, both which subsequently featured on their debut album, The Rusty Razor. The band’s new album, Turf Man Blues, has been over a year in the making and will be officially released on Saturday, March 19.

The new album features eleven new songs from the title track, The Turf Man Blues, dedicated to the generations whose only source of heating and cooking was the ‘auld sod’, to Dance For The Crowd, a song about bullying and discrimination.

Releasing the album in the year that it is in Irish history, the Goats also wanted to mark the one hundred-year anniversary of the Easter Rising.

The Volunteer

The Volunteer, the Goats’ newest track, was well worth the wait and is a beautiful song commemorating this momentous event in Irish history. Two of our guitars feature in the accompanying music video, an X20 Woody and our short scale 12-string, an Amicus Woody.

Goats Don’t Shave are performing a number of concerts including two dates in Donegal: Smugglers Nightclub, Arranmore Island, (April 1) and The Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey (April 2) and three dates in Scotland: The Ceilidh House, Oban (May 27); Ramsay Hall, Port Ellen, Islay (May 28) and The Shed, Glasgow (May 29).
