Muriel Anderson

Muriel Anderson is the first woman to win the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Guitar Player Magazine lists her as one of the top 50 guitarists of all time and she has recently been listed among the top ten female guitarists. Her gentle sense of humor and facility across multiple genres is revered by audiences and guitarists worldwide. She has recorded with country legend Chet Atkins, performed with Les Paul and countless other greats in “Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night®” shows over the past 30+ years. Muriel’s CD Nightlight Daylight placed first in its category in 11 national awards, followed by Acoustic Chef, an international CD with cookbook. Muriel’s skill as a composer and poet has never been more obvious than with her new release Sailing Dreams (released together with accompanying board game!)

Muriel recently put her Emerald Synergy X7 harp guitar to great use when recording tracks for her new Album Sailing dreams.

“My fiancé is a sailor and has taken me on several extended trips from NY up to New England and Maine. I love sailing, but the marine environment isn’t friendly to wood guitars so I brought my Emerald carbon fiber harp guitar(Synergy X7). I’ve done shows and recorded with it also. It has really done beautifully and does not seem worse for wear.  I was able to capture the melody of the rain on the deck, write about our adventures pretending we were pirates and boarding the historic schooner Stephen Taber, (which resulted in a blues jam with her captain) and capture the moments in music as they happened without worry about the instrument in the damp salt air.
